about Yamayama

Yamayama is a company founded by a mother who turned her parenting challenges into sustainable solutions. They advance UN SDG 12 through two innovative approaches: converting 240kg of monthly food waste into their product and transforming 2,640 square meters of abandoned farmland into a nature facility for families. This unique business model addresses environmental issues while building a better future for children.

product

They were created by a mother frustrated with having to give her toddler artificial candy. After seeing persimmons being wasted due to size standards, she was inspired to create a healthier alternative. She moved from Osaka to the countryside and spent two years developing an additive-free gummy that's colorful and tasty, using discarded fruit. The result is a kid-friendly probiotic snack that's both healthy and enjoyable.

ingredients

It is actually a gummy-textured dried fruit, made exclusively from imperfect fruits from Wakayama Prefecture. It's completely additive-free, containing no gelatin, sugar, artificial coloring, or lemon juice. While the source fruits are high quality, they would otherwise be discarded due to appearance standards. These fruits are transformed using a special 36-hour drying technique to create the unique gummy-like texture.
